Most
of the dance music scene is boring and mindless
We are different then the usual dance music scene... Music is the most strongest force... We are working on something in Yugoslavia...
Oscilator: What kind of respond you have received from critics, people; And if I can notice Legowelt and your soundmates have become a respectable avangarde in the cutting edge euro and worldwide club scene. Can you comment this?
Legowelt: I don't know if that is, it is what it is I guess. We are different then the usual dance music scene, we do not fit in, probably because we think most of the dance music scene is boring and mindless.
Oscilator: I find design & presentation of Bunker releases, including Legowelt, very interesting, Ironic approach to thinking and presentation of vintage euro music, film, lounge subculture makes people listening to your music more intensively, according to the total design. Do you think total design really exist?
Legowelt: Yes, the graphical images and the music are one, there is no difference, they emit the same feeling. Yet music is the most strongest force in my opinion, also the most mysterious and the most organic... It lives... The soundwaves are moving.
Oscilator: When I`m listening some of your tracks I feel like I am teleported into the childhood, in a time when a documentary and education TV programs of vintage Yugoslavian and Bosnian TV culture were coloured by Jean Michelle Jarre and Kraftwerk classics. Can you tell me about your music influences?
Legowelt: There is a lot, from 70ies, 80ies synthesizer artists/bands to italo disco to Chicago house to Detroit techno to oldschool electro & hiphop & 70ies and 80ies Italian movie soundtracks.
Oscilator: Electro clash and italo disco are making electro scene today more fun and they are definitely establishing vintage disco, italo, 80`s sound almost as euro club standard. What is your prediction about evolution of sound similar to yours?
Legowelt: There will be something new, like its always been. I don't care much about dance music today, it all sounds like shit in my opinion.
Oscilator: Are you planning to tour some of the areas southern then Germany, like Austria and Balkans, and can you tell me something about responding in Japan?
Legowelt: The responding in Japan was very good, we will go again in September this time together with Bangkok Impact, Kassen & DJ Schmerzlabor. We are working on something in Yugoslavia so maybe sometime in the future Legowelt is going to play there. Also Thessalonica and Athens will be visited pretty soon.
Oscilator: Can you tell me more about your favourites today and generally about the artists that you like. Can you recommend us something?
Legowelt: Luke Eargoggle from Sweden.
